Predictions for the College Football Playoff

Predictions for the College Football Playoff
1. Oklahoma
2. Michigan State
3. Stanford
4. Ohio State

Baker Mayfield
1. For Oklahoma to get the first seed, they need the two teams in front of them to lose, which means North Carolina winning against Clemson and Florida winning against Alabama. This can happen as Florida is an up and down team and I think they will play a very good game against Alabama. Clemson will lose because they almost lost to a 3-8 South Carolina and they look very vulnerable.

Connor Cook
2. Michigan State needs to win the Big Ten Championship and they will make it. Iowa may be undefeated, but their best win was against Northwestern while Michigan State beat marquee teams like Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State. The way they rolled Penn State yesterday, Iowa doesn’t stand a chance.

Kevin Hogan

3. Stanford needs a lot of help. It needs Clemson, Alabama, and Iowa to lose. It also needs to beat USC in a very convincing fashion so it can leapfrog Ohio State to the third seed. I think they can do
it, and they played well and mistake-free against a very good Notre Dame team last night.

J.T Barrett

4. Ohio State has to hope that the committee sees them as a better team than North Carolina. North Carolina has a loss to South Carolina and wins against two FCS teams. Ohio State crushed Michigan. North Carolina can improve their resume by beating Clemson, but even if they do that, they can’t get past Ohio State.

Come Spring, Where Will the Top Pitchers Be?

Predictions for Where the Top 3 Starting Pitchers Will Go in Free Agency
This winter, many amazing baseball players will switch teams during free agency. This year is especially stacked with many good players. The top three pitchers are Zack Greinke, David Price, and Johnny Cueto. Each of them played on teams that made the playoffs, and Cueto’s Royals won the World Series. Also, they all probably will switch teams. Here are my predictions as to where they will land.

1. Zack Greinke
Could Zack Greinke go to the Giants?

I think that Zack Greinke will go to the San Francisco Giants. With the Los Angeles Dodgers, he made the playoffs but never won the World Series. He hasn’t won a won a World Series in his career and probably wants to. The Giants have won the championship 3 times in the last 6 years, and all they need to win this year is a top tier starting pitcher. Who else but the best pitcher from their south California rival?

David Price pitching for the Blue Jays
2. David Price

I think David Price will sign with the Toronto Blue Jays. He was traded to them midway through the
last season and was absolutely dominant in the regular season. Their offense was very good and should have made the World Series. He has the biggest chance of winning if he stays with the Jays.

3. Johnny Cueto

Johnny Cueto holding the World Series
Johnny Cueto will sign with the Boston Red Sox. This year is David Ortiz’s swan song season and he will look to win another ring. The Red Sox have a good offense and decent rotation. The one thing that will complete their team is a top-tier starting pitcher.

NFL Undefeated Teams Part 2

Patriots and Panthers
10 weeks into the season and there are only two teams left in the undefeated pool. The New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers are 9-0 in the season right now. The Patriots being undefeated is not a big surprise because they won the Super Bowl last year and they have been playing some great football this season. They have had an okay schedule with some easy opponents but against some of the hard ones they played well. Their running game and defense have been terrific and have been able to score or stop other teams from scoring. Tom Brady has been playing well, like every year, and they might make it to the Super Bowl again. His main receiver Julian Edelman is playing great even with his lack of height. At 5 ft 10 he is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the game today. But, there is another team that still remains as a top contender for the Super Bowl. Led by Cam Newton the Carolina Panthers are playing as good as the Patriots right now. Even though their top receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, is injured for the year their offense is spectacular. Cam Newton has been throwing well and also running for many touchdowns as most of their scores. Also, their defense led by Luke Kuechly is getting a lot of stops and defensive scores. Overall, with both of teams in different divisions, AFC and NFC, they can be the next two teams in the Super Bowl.

Whats wrong with the Niners???

Colin Kaepernick
The Niners have been playing horrible this half of the NFL season. In the offseason the Niners lost more than 10 starting players by retirement or injury. Also, they lost their head coach Jim Harbaugh who left the Niners for the Michigan University football team. During the NFL draft the Niners draft picks were not as well either which didn't help their problem. Because of all of these misfortunes the Niners team has been losing most of their games. What did not help them at all is that their star quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been missing receivers throughout this season. Making the playoffs this year seems very doubtful for the Niners and even having a winning record is going to be a challenge for them. While Kaepernick is on the bench their other quarterback Blane Gabbert who started his career with the Jaguars before coming to the Niners last year. Surprisingly Gabbert played really well in today's game against the Falcons. My prediction is that in a couple of years the Niners will be a good contender for the championship or for the playoffs at least. They need to work with their new coach, Jim Tomsula, to make a wonderful team.
