My Pick for the NFL Playoffs

           PANTHERS WIN SUPER BOWL 50

                                                            Super Bowl: Panthers vs Patriots

Conference Championships:  Patriots vs Bengals, Panthers vs Cardinals

Divisional Round: Patriots vs Steelers, Bengals vs Chiefs, Panthers vs Seahawks, Cards vs Packers

Wildcard: Steelers vs Broncos, Chiefs vs Jaguars, Packers vs Vikings, Seahawks vs Redskins

Blue: Win                                                                                                                  Red: Loss

NFL Playoff Picture

The end of the NFL season is near, with 2 more weeks of play left. The first round of the playoffs is the wildcard. When 4 teams from AFC play against each other, and same for the NFC. The AFC wildcard right now consists of these four teams; Denver Broncos, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and Kansas City Chiefs. The top teams in the hunt right now for those wildcard spots are Jets, Colts, and Jaguars. Out of all of these teams the Chiefs, Steelers, and Jets all have the same record of 9-5 making this race really tight. My pick for the AFC wildcard right now is that the Jaguars will take the Texans spot to play against the Chiefs, otherwise leaving the race the sam. Meanwhile, in the NFC the four teams in the wildcard spots for now are the; Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks, and the Washington Redskins. The top teams in the hunt are the Falcons, Eagles, and Giants. Unlike the AFC, I don't think that any of the spots are going to change for the NFC wildcard. The teams who have already clinched there spots in the divisional round are the Patriots and Bengals in the AFC and the Panthers and Cardinals in the NFC. In the divisional round the Patriots will play the lower seeded team that wins in the wildcard in the AFC. The Bengals will play the higher seeded team that wins the wildcard in the AFC. The same thing happens in the NFC, the lower seeded wildcard team will play the undefeated Panthers, and the higher seeded wildcard team will play the Cardinals. My pick for the wildcard is the Steelers beating the Broncos, and the Chiefs(no bias even though they rock) beating the Jaguars. After that, the Patriots will face the Steelers, and the Bengals will play the Chiefs. As much as I love the Chiefs, sadly I don't think that they will be able to beat the Bengals. And, I think that the Patriots will beat the Steelers if they don't cheat. In the NFC the Panthers will face the Seahawks after they supposedly beat the Redskins. And, the Packers will face the Cardinals as the other 2 teams in the divisional round. After those two games, my pick is that the Panthers will face the Cardinals beating them and heading towards the Super Bowl. On the other hand, the Patriots will beat the Bengals and head to the Super Bowl too. That leaves Super Bowl 50 with the Patriots verses the Panthers. My pick for the Super Bowl will be coming right after the playoffs.
Tom Brady and Cam Newton

Predictions for the College Football Playoff

Predictions for the College Football Playoff
1. Oklahoma
2. Michigan State
3. Stanford
4. Ohio State

Baker Mayfield
1. For Oklahoma to get the first seed, they need the two teams in front of them to lose, which means North Carolina winning against Clemson and Florida winning against Alabama. This can happen as Florida is an up and down team and I think they will play a very good game against Alabama. Clemson will lose because they almost lost to a 3-8 South Carolina and they look very vulnerable.

Connor Cook
2. Michigan State needs to win the Big Ten Championship and they will make it. Iowa may be undefeated, but their best win was against Northwestern while Michigan State beat marquee teams like Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State. The way they rolled Penn State yesterday, Iowa doesn’t stand a chance.

Kevin Hogan

3. Stanford needs a lot of help. It needs Clemson, Alabama, and Iowa to lose. It also needs to beat USC in a very convincing fashion so it can leapfrog Ohio State to the third seed. I think they can do
it, and they played well and mistake-free against a very good Notre Dame team last night.

J.T Barrett

4. Ohio State has to hope that the committee sees them as a better team than North Carolina. North Carolina has a loss to South Carolina and wins against two FCS teams. Ohio State crushed Michigan. North Carolina can improve their resume by beating Clemson, but even if they do that, they can’t get past Ohio State.

Come Spring, Where Will the Top Pitchers Be?

Predictions for Where the Top 3 Starting Pitchers Will Go in Free Agency
This winter, many amazing baseball players will switch teams during free agency. This year is especially stacked with many good players. The top three pitchers are Zack Greinke, David Price, and Johnny Cueto. Each of them played on teams that made the playoffs, and Cueto’s Royals won the World Series. Also, they all probably will switch teams. Here are my predictions as to where they will land.

1. Zack Greinke
Could Zack Greinke go to the Giants?

I think that Zack Greinke will go to the San Francisco Giants. With the Los Angeles Dodgers, he made the playoffs but never won the World Series. He hasn’t won a won a World Series in his career and probably wants to. The Giants have won the championship 3 times in the last 6 years, and all they need to win this year is a top tier starting pitcher. Who else but the best pitcher from their south California rival?

David Price pitching for the Blue Jays
2. David Price

I think David Price will sign with the Toronto Blue Jays. He was traded to them midway through the
last season and was absolutely dominant in the regular season. Their offense was very good and should have made the World Series. He has the biggest chance of winning if he stays with the Jays.

3. Johnny Cueto

Johnny Cueto holding the World Series
Johnny Cueto will sign with the Boston Red Sox. This year is David Ortiz’s swan song season and he will look to win another ring. The Red Sox have a good offense and decent rotation. The one thing that will complete their team is a top-tier starting pitcher.

NFL Undefeated Teams Part 2

Patriots and Panthers
10 weeks into the season and there are only two teams left in the undefeated pool. The New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers are 9-0 in the season right now. The Patriots being undefeated is not a big surprise because they won the Super Bowl last year and they have been playing some great football this season. They have had an okay schedule with some easy opponents but against some of the hard ones they played well. Their running game and defense have been terrific and have been able to score or stop other teams from scoring. Tom Brady has been playing well, like every year, and they might make it to the Super Bowl again. His main receiver Julian Edelman is playing great even with his lack of height. At 5 ft 10 he is one of the most dynamic wide receivers in the game today. But, there is another team that still remains as a top contender for the Super Bowl. Led by Cam Newton the Carolina Panthers are playing as good as the Patriots right now. Even though their top receiver, Kelvin Benjamin, is injured for the year their offense is spectacular. Cam Newton has been throwing well and also running for many touchdowns as most of their scores. Also, their defense led by Luke Kuechly is getting a lot of stops and defensive scores. Overall, with both of teams in different divisions, AFC and NFC, they can be the next two teams in the Super Bowl.

Whats wrong with the Niners???

Colin Kaepernick
The Niners have been playing horrible this half of the NFL season. In the offseason the Niners lost more than 10 starting players by retirement or injury. Also, they lost their head coach Jim Harbaugh who left the Niners for the Michigan University football team. During the NFL draft the Niners draft picks were not as well either which didn't help their problem. Because of all of these misfortunes the Niners team has been losing most of their games. What did not help them at all is that their star quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been missing receivers throughout this season. Making the playoffs this year seems very doubtful for the Niners and even having a winning record is going to be a challenge for them. While Kaepernick is on the bench their other quarterback Blane Gabbert who started his career with the Jaguars before coming to the Niners last year. Surprisingly Gabbert played really well in today's game against the Falcons. My prediction is that in a couple of years the Niners will be a good contender for the championship or for the playoffs at least. They need to work with their new coach, Jim Tomsula, to make a wonderful team.

NFL Undefeated Teams Overview

Green Bay Packers
We are getting to the end of the first half in the 2015-2016 NFL season with Halloween just around the corner. Here is an overview of the first half so far. There are 5 remaining undefeated teams this year with most of them already done with their bye week. These teams are the Patriots, Bengals, Broncos, Packers, and the Panthers. Overall, out of these teams the Packers have been playing the best football. Every year they play great with their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Just coming back after losing in the NFC Championship to the Seahawks, but also winning an MVP last season makes Rodgers the best player in the league right now. He has completed more then 65% of his passes and has thrown 15 touchdowns. By doing the math he is averaging 3 touchdowns per game which a great stat for a quarterback at his level. Second out of these 5 teams is probably the Bengals. They have been playing the best football in years with their young quarterback Andy Dalton. Last year he was one of the most inconsistent quarterbacks ever. One game he would throw 5 touchdowns then the next week throwing 5 interceptions. But, besides the bad games he had last year now he is playing wonderful and leading his teams to some amazing victories. Also, the Bengals defense had been playing outstanding and making big plays when they count. Their secondary is making key stops while the defensive line is pounding other teams quarterbacks. Third out of these teams I think is the Patriots. Every year they are always playing good and after winning the Super Bowl the hype is really high for them. Its no surprise that they are 5-0 because of how their team has not really changed in the past year. Their receiving core is great and with Brady at quarterback their offense is spectacular. Fourth would be the Panthers. After losing Steve Smith a couple years ago and their rookie sensation Kelvin Benjamin to injury everyone thought that the team was going to play horrible this year. But, Cam Newton proved everyone wrong throwing one of the best seasons in his career. With a lot more years in front of him the future for this franchise is looking bright and they might win a Super Bowl sooner or later. Last is the Broncos, they are playing good but not like the other undefeated teams in the league. Peyton Manning is not playing as good as expected from him but they are getting wins. Their defense is playing terrific and Von Miller is leading them to some great things on the other side of the ball. Out of all these teams I think one of them is going to win the title and I'm predicting now that the Green Bay Packers are going to win Super Bowl 50.

Draft Busts and Steals

The NFL draft has been over for a while now and the season is about to start. On this list I will make a prediction of the draft picks that will be great or total busts. Heres my list:

Draft Busts

  1. Dante Fowler Jr. just got injured in training camp tearing his ACL making his NFL debut delayed by one year. Since he has just got injured at the very start of his career its going to be even more harder for him to get better as a player and make sure he can stay healthy after this devastating injury. In the past its showed that rookies that get injured don't get a good start coming back, in 4 to 5 years he might be good but i wouldn't count on it.
  2. Shane Ray like Dante Fowler Jr. also is injured, he is supposed to be playing this year but again after an injury its hard to come back from an injury. Also, he has not played in one whole year showing that his skills might have declined since the last time he has played.
  3. One more player that I think will be a bust next season is Arik Armstead. The Niners got this DT from Oregon because of a trade from the Chargers in picks. I think that the Niners should have sticked in their spot in the draft and taken Melvin Gordon. This would have been a good pick because their running back Frank Gore was out of his contract and was likely going to leave at the time which he did soon after the draft to the Colts.

Draft Steals

  1. Marcus Mariota was one huge steal I think will be a great player in the next season. He is now part of the Titans who have lost most of their starting quarterbacks due to injury meaning they needed a good leader to take over their team. Mariota was a leader at Oregon for 4 years and winning the 2015 Heisman trophy. Heisman winners have not done that good in the past but I think that this player will be different and make the Titans a good team.
  2. Amari Cooper will be a great player for the Oakland Raiders next season. The Raiders have not  had good receivers for a while. Amari will have to step up with Greg Jennings who has been playing for a long time now to help the Raiders to become a winning team. The Raiders quarterback Derek Carr has played good in his rookie season and will be a starter for a long time with this franchise. I can't wait to see how this Bay Area team does now.
  3. The last player that I think is going to be good this year is Melvin Gordon. He just got drafted by the San Diego Chargers and as I think will be the next LT for the Chargers. He is a powerful running back that set records in college running 443 yards in one game last year. This player can be great and will be, in a couple of years he will be one of the best running backs in the league.

NBA Daft Day Winners and Losers

The NBA Draft was today, and it was a very special occasion for the 60 players who got drafted. There are some winners and some losers, so we will go over that now.

Winner: Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks had two picks today, which they used wisely. The first one was used on Virginia's Justin Anderson, and the Second was used on India's Satnam Singh. With Justin Anderson, the got a nice offensive player who plays great physical defense. The second pick, Satnam Singh, it the first Indian-born player in NBA history. Mark Cuban said "We now have a billion more Mavs fans."Even famous Indian actor Abhishek Bachchan said"Congratulations Satnam Singh. The 1st ever Indian to be drafted into the NBA by the Dallas Mavericks.''

Winner: D'Angelo Russell/ The Lakers
D'Angelo Russell gets to play with Kobe in his twilight years. The Lakers are linked to Kevin Live, DeMarcus Cousins, and Lamarcus Aldridge. The might even make the playoffs after two long years of playoff drought and 5 years of a championship drought. Of course. theat isnt anything compared to a certain team who hasn't won the Finals since 1972.........

Western Conference Finals Breakdown

It is the middle of May again, and that usually signifies the start of the conference finals in the NBA finals. It is one of the most important series, because it sets up the final stage in the road to the championship. The two matchups this year are very interesting, as it showcases four teams that have been usually resting at their homes at this time at May. Here, I will break down the positions and who has the edge.

Western Conference: Warriors vs. Rockets

Backcourt:

The Warriors have the Splash Brothers, Stephen Curry, and the Rockets have Jason Terry and James Harden. As well as James Harden can score the ball, the opposing backcourt scores as well and plays shutdown defense.

Edge: Warriors

Small Forward:

This all comes down to Trevor Ariza and Harrison Barnes. Usually, on any day, Ariza outplays Barnes, but everyone knows that Harrison Barnes steps up his game. “Playoff Barnes”, which is the name he is known by, stepped up his game this playoffs.

Edge: Even

Frontcourt:

We all know that Dwight Howard is better than Andrew Bogut, but Draymond Green s much better than Josh Smith. This will be fun to watch the big men go at is in the paint. Green held his own against Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph.

Edge: Even

Bench Players:

The Warriors have two ex- all stars on the bench, and Marreese Speights is coming back from his injury. The Rockets bench stands no chance.

Edge: Warriors

Series: Warriors in 5

The Epic 2014- 2015 NBA MVP Race/ Playoff Predictions

The Epic 2014- 2015 NBA MVP Race/ Playoff Predictions

This year’s MVP race has been one for the ages, with 2 impressive contenders that have incredible resumes, and each have a great chance to take the hardware home. Here, I will talk about each person’s stats on the season, and whom I think will win MVP.

James Harden

James Harden:             This year, James Harden has averaged 27.4 points, 4.4 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. He has been lights out for the 81 games he has played for the Houston Rockets. He has been very good on offense, but his defense is still not very good. His player efficiency is 26.7, which is good for 4th on the list. In the most important category, Real Plus Minus, he is 2nd with a plus minus of 7.4.

Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry:           Stephen Curry has been an imposing matchup this year, making other teams go crazy on who to guard him with and how to guard him. This year, he increased his tendency to drive, with great success rates, so now he is dangerous shooting the ball from anywhere on the court. This year, he averaged 23.8 points, 7.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds. He set a new record with 286 made 3 point field goals and leads the league with a 9.6 plus-minus.

I think that Stephen Curry will win MVP because he is the best player on the best team in the league, he led them to a franchise record 67 wins, and will look to do more in the postseason.
